Sometimes you already have the postage — you found a better rate, or you print from your own carrier account — and you just need the package to go out. Ship For Me covers that: we apply your label to your package and hand it to the carrier, for a $5 per label handling fee. International shipments are $8 per label — that includes printing your customs documents and pouching them to the box.

The Steps
- Open My Shipments → New and select the package(s).
- Choose I have a label.
- Tell us where it’s going. We ask whether the package is going back to the sender or merchant. Answer no for an onward shipment — your home, a friend, a customer — and that’s what the handling fee covers. (Answer yes and it’s a return, which is free.)
- Provide the label: upload the PDF, or tell us it’s already on the box.
- Review and submit. We apply the label, and your package goes out with the carrier — USPS, UPS, and FedEx all pick up here Monday–Saturday.
Need the Weight and Size First?
Buying your own postage usually means the carrier’s checkout asks for exact weight and dimensions. Choose “I need weight & size first” in the wizard: we measure and weigh your package and email you the specs ($5), you buy your label with confidence, then upload it to finish the request. That $5 isn’t an extra charge for measuring — it’s the same per-label handling fee, billed when you upload your ready label, and $8 if the shipment is international.
This is the one case where measuring is billed even when the destination is the original merchant: a genuine merchant return arrives with a prepaid label and never needs measuring at all, so if you’re asking us to measure, you’re buying your own postage.
Combining Several Packages
Select multiple packages and we consolidate them into one box with one label. On top of the $5 (U.S.) / $8 (international) label fee, the consolidation fee applies — the amount is shown before you submit, and materials are included. One caution with self-bought postage: if the carrier adjusts the weight after pickup, that adjustment is rebilled to your label, so use the measured specs rather than guessing.
What About Customs Paperwork?
Anything going outside the 50 states and DC counts as international — Canada and the rest of the world, U.S. territories like Puerto Rico and Guam, and military APO/FPO addresses all need customs paperwork riding along with the box. That’s what the $8 rate covers.
Upload your commercial invoice in the portal in its own field, separate from the label — they’re two different documents, so there’s no need to merge them into one PDF. We print the copies the carrier wants, seal them in a documents pouch, and affix the pouch to the package. All of that is included in the $8 international rate: uploading customs and supporting documents is free, and we never charge per page or per upload.
When to Use Quote Me Instead
If you don’t have a label and just want something shipped, Quote Me is usually the better deal — no handling fee at all, and our live commercial rates are often cheaper than retail postage anyway.
