Returns: Sending a Package Back to the Sender

Sending a package back to the store or merchant it came from is free — we print the label, tape it on, and hand it to the carrier. You pay only the postage, and on a prepaid merchant return the merchant has already covered that.

Sending a package back where it came from is free. If the label already exists — you uploaded the merchant’s prepaid PDF, or it is already stuck to the box — we print it, affix it, and hand the package to the carrier at no charge. You pay only the postage, and on a prepaid merchant return the merchant has already covered that.

You Have a Prepaid Label

This is how most store returns work. Amazon, Best Buy, and the rest email you a label or a return PDF and pay for the postage themselves.

For a single package, the quickest route is your packages list:

  1. Open My Packages and open the menu on the package you’re sending back.
  2. Choose Return to Sender.
  3. Provide the label: upload the PDF, or tell us it’s already on the box.
  4. If we ask whether it’s going back to the sender or merchant, answer yes.
  5. Review and submit. We print, tape, and hand it to the carrier — USPS, UPS, and FedEx all pick up here Monday–Saturday. Nothing is charged.

Returning several packages at once? Use My Shipments → NewI have a label instead — it lets you give us a label for each one, or one label for all of them packed together.

We can’t accept a QR code return (Amazon, UPS Happy Returns and similar) — a QR code is scanned at a carrier counter, not applied to a box. If the merchant gave you only a QR code, go back into their returns page and choose the print-at-home shipping label instead; an actual shipping label is what we apply. Most return portals offer both.

The Label Is Already on the Box

Same answer, same price: nothing. Tell us the label is already on the box when we ask for it and we’ll fetch the package and hand it over as it is. There’s no upload and nothing to print.

No Label Yet

If the merchant isn’t providing postage — a warranty return, a private seller, or a store that expects you to pay your own way back — you have two options, and this is the one situation where a return costs something:

  • Quote Me — we price your exact parcel and destination live and you approve the quote. No handling fee, just the postage you approve.
  • Weigh and measure first — if you’d rather buy the postage yourself, we measure the parcel and email you the specs, then you upload the label you bought. That path carries the per-label handling fee described in Ship For Me.

Why does the second one bill when a normal return doesn’t? Because a genuine merchant return arrives with a prepaid label and needs no measuring at all — measuring is work we only ever do so you can go and buy your own postage, and there is no margin on postage you bought yourself. The free path is the one where a label already exists.

Several Packages Going Back to One Merchant

You can send them back separately — each with its own label, each free — or have us pack them into one box with one label. Combining is a repack job: we open, pack, and seal a new box with materials included, so the consolidation fee applies whether the shipment is a return or not. The amount is shown before you submit.

A free label doesn’t make a free box, and one label means one box — so a consolidated return needs the single label that covers the combined parcel, uploaded in the portal.

Dropping a Return Off After Hours

You don’t need a PIN and you don’t need us to be open. Empty lockers stand open — find a door standing open, put the parcel in, close it, and note the locker number, then file the drop-off in the portal. Full walkthrough: After-hours drop-off.

If a “Return” Turns Out to Ship Somewhere Else

If a package marked as a return to the sender is actually addressed somewhere else — a friend, a customer, your own home — that’s an onward shipment, so our staff apply the standard per-label handling fee and note it on your shipment request, where you’ll see it the next time you open it. Nothing else about the shipment changes.

Genuinely unsure whether your destination counts? Ask us before you submit — and if we do ask whether it’s going back to the sender, answer no and pay the handling fee rather than guess. We’d far rather answer the question than surprise you with a charge.
